Our motivation to create a space to support entrepreneurial immigrants stems from the frustration we have experienced, through our own experiences as founders of Sweet Accommodations, and that of many other immigrants in this and probably any other country.
Immigration is not always seen in a positive light, especially when a country is suffering economically. Unfortunately, the speech of blaming immigration as the source of problems is often used.
The numbers and statistics show that immigration really contributes to the economic growth of a country, even more so, skilled immigration. Skilled immigration contributes talent and knowledge, while low-skilled immigrants perform essential occupations in which native labor is scarce, allowing the nation’s population to fill positions that require more skills.
In Spain, the only group of self-employed workers that grew during the crisis years was that of immigrants.
For us, the important role that the immigrant community plays in the generation and recovery of self-employment is clear. We are very entrepreneurial people and for whom self-employment has become an effective formula to enter the labor market.
From our position, we perceive that there is a real need for a space in which all immigrants who want to start a business can find out about the resources available to them and the procedures to start legally.
CoImpact Coliving aims to be a meeting point for immigrant entrepreneurs. A community that generates valuable connections, that provides knowledge and tools, that inspires through example, and that serves as a platform for the creation of social entrepreneurship projects for immigrants and refugees to empower themselves and transform the role they play in our society. CoImpact Coliving is a living and working space in the center of Barcelona that is built on the following pillars:

What is our Immigrant Entrepreneur Training Program?
At CoImpact Coliving we allocate 20% of our places to immigrants who are motivated to become entrepreneurs and lack the resources to do so.
These people receive the same services and attention as the rest of our Impacters, free of charge, complementing their training with a Master in Social Innovation from the Learning by Helping organization.
The Impact Program also includes personalized advice and mentoring for the creation of ventures, psychological support and personalized ontological coaching.
The main objective of this program is for the scholarship recipients to create their social entrepreneurship projects and transform the role they have in our society and community, thus contributing to a change of perspective towards the immigrant community.
At CoImpact Coliving in Barcelona, we maintain a white belt mentality and we are constantly learning and growing.
