At CoImpact Coliving we believe in the power and potential of community.

One of our main objectives is to create a sense of belonging to a community among our guests, generate lasting and significant ties, and foster spaces of connection between our guests and the local community.

For this, an important pillar that allows us to offer a community experience to all our guests is our collaborations. We join forces with local entrepreneurs and projects that share our philosophy and way of undertaking, to expand our offer of complementary services and make it easier for our guests to enjoy Barcelona to the fullest.

In this publication we introduce you to our collaborators. We invite you to visit them, connect with them and definitely take advantage of the discounts and benefits they offer to the CoImpact Coliving community.

Artistic Society - L'Occulta Barcelona

Sociedad Artística L Occulta Barcelona

Instagram: loccultabcn

  1. Tell us the story behind L’Occulta? How was this project born?

We are L’Occulta, we call ourselves a society of artists who managed to acquire a space in the center of Barcelona, in the midst of the pandemic. At first we were looking for a place where we could develop creatively, but the project gradually became a meeting point for different art disciplines, looking for ways to monetize and facilitate exchange between the public and the artists.

  2. What is your value proposition? What makes you different/special?

In short, we are a cultural center where we provide various types of services, from dance and acrobatics classes, live events whether they are musicals, exhibitions, theater, etc. Perhaps our greatest quality is the variety of artistic proposals and the versatility of the space to transform as needed. As for the inclusiveness, we consider ourselves free of prejudice and thus allow any interested person to enjoy what we offer.

  3. Who is L’Occulta designed for? Who is part of your community?

The space is focused on being available primarily to emerging artists, immigrants, and sexual, social, and political dissidents. Of course we maintain a philosophy of open doors to those who want to collaborate with the ideal.

  4. Why is it interesting for you to offer discounts / benefits to the CoImpact Coliving community?

Understanding that in today’s society we need the other to be able to move forward and as the members of the association believe in a cooperative model, agreements such as the one being carried out with Colmpact Coliving help us to increase the network and reach more audiences than perhaps identify with our social and artistic purpose, as immigrants that we are, we seek unity.

In addition to being more than welcome, CoImpact Coliving guests who participate in events and activities at L’Occulta will receive a free complimentary drink.

Ecolectia - Fair Trade and Organic Products

Tienda Ecolectia

Web: Ecolectia

  1. Tell us the story behind Ecolectia? How was this project born?

Ecolectia was born as an alternative to trade in food products based on principles of food sovereignty.

I spent many years managing projects for food companies and saw that the industry did not meet minimum standards of human rights or environmental protection. Food companies have always grown at the expense of reducing costs in the acquisition of raw material by farmers, something that happens from Almería to Rwanda.

Fair trade, even with good intentions, had never positioned itself to offer quality selection products, trying only to offer generic coffee, tea or chocolates. There was an opportunity in the market offering a quality selection but complying with the strict controls of Fairtrade certification (the most rigorous of fair trade) and organic farming. This is how Ecolectia was born.

  2. What is your value proposition? What makes you different/special?

Ecolectia is a project that combines respect for human rights identically to what some fair trade NGOs do, but offering a greater range, both in number of references and in quality of selection. It is an alternative as great specialists of coffee, tea and cocoa within ethical food.

Ecolectia currently offers the largest number of Fairtrade certified references in Spain. Unlike in addition to acquiring a fair trade product in any commercial area (something to applaud) from Ecolectia for those who have the opportunity to approach their point of sale in Grácia – we are in Bruniquer, 9 – they will be advised and everything will be explained to them what they need to know to take away their favorite coffee or tea.

In addition, both in the physical store and in the online store, we have a zero waste policy with returnable bags, rewarding their reuse.

  3. Who is Ecolectia designed for? Who is part of your community?

The people who are part of the Ecolectia community are people who want to take care of themselves and the planet. Apart from coffee or infusions, there is also a wide range of superfoods that help us lead a healthier rhythm of life.

I would also emphasize that they are good people. Ecolectia’s clients not only repeat because it is a good product, but also because they are involved with equality and the development of the producing countries. It is generally an (in)formed and conscientious clientele.

  4. Why is it interesting for you to offer discounts / benefits to the CoImpact Coliving community?

Since it opened 3 years ago, Ecolectia has woven collaboration networks with associations and alternative projects in many fields, valuing anyone who offers a different service or product with a positive impact on society in their respective sector.

That is why the CoImpact Coliving community is always more than welcome.

Olé Languages - Language School

Ole Languages

Web: Olé Languages

  1. Tell us the story behind Olé Languages? How was this project born?

The idea of starting Olé Languages arose in 2004 when we realized that Barcelona was becoming a pole of attraction for young people from all over the planet.

There was a need to learn Spanish among these young newcomers and we saw that the existing offer in Barcelona was not adapted to the demand that was beginning to emerge. It was a time when traveling to study a language was no longer something exclusive to people with high purchasing power. Access to language stays was being democratized. That is why we decided to start the Olé Languages project to be able to offer Spanish courses at affordable prices.

  2. What is your value proposition? What makes you different/special?

    Quality at competitive prices.
From the beginning of the project we knew that we had to contribute to democratizing access to Spanish courses for foreigners. It was a time when young people were beginning to use the Internet for everything. For this reason, we decided to use the Internet as a means of communicating directly with potential students, bypassing the traditional language agencies. With this we saved 25% of the commission charged by the agencies, which allowed us to lower the final price while maintaining the quality of the training. Said directly, quality at competitive prices.

  3. Who is Olé Languages designed for? Who is part of your community?

Olé Languages is focused on any foreigner from anywhere in the world who wants to learn Spanish in Barcelona. Although our community is designed for adults without major restrictions, in practice, the people who make it up are international young people between 20 and 35 years old and some older people with a young spirit.

  4. Why is it interesting for you to offer discounts / benefits to the CoImpact Coliving community?

The CoImpact Coliving community is similar to that of Olé Languages, young, with an international profile, eager for new experiences and meeting new people and integrating into new communities. That is the profile that our company wants to attract.

That is why we think that CoImpact Coliving clients will feel totally integrated in Olé Languages and why we offer them a 10% discount on all of our courses.

Coco Coffice - Coworking for nomad workers

Web: Coco Coffice

  1. Tell us the story behind Coco Coffice? How was this project born?

The project was born in 2016 by Axel and Carole, a couple of creative freelancers who wanted to open an inspiring place where people like them – nomadic workers – could work. I (Morane) joined the project at the beginning of 2022 because I loved the space, and now I am the new person in charge.

  2. What is your value proposition? What makes you different/special?

Coco Coffice is a hybrid between office and cafeteria. We offer nomadic workers a nice and quiet place to work productively, but without the commitment that classic coworkings ask for, since they can only stay for an hour if they want. The place stands out for its careful decoration that creates an inspiring and welcoming atmosphere, and unlimited coffee and cookies included in the rate.

  3. Who is Coco Coffice designed for? Who is part of your community?

Our coffice is designed for people with geographic flexibility, who like to change their environment to work. Many of our clients come to Coco a few days a week, and the rest of the time they work from home or their company office, sometimes abroad! It is also designed for those people who need a quiet environment to focus to the maximum, since at home or in a classic coffee shop there can be distracting elements.

  4. Why is it interesting for you to offer discounts / benefits to the CoImpact Coliving community?

We believe that the coliving community, like us, values a spirit of community and freedom to which the coffice concept responds. We would like to strengthen the link between CoImpact Coliving and Coco Coffice to offer a complete work and life solution in Barcelona to users. And many “Co”!

For this reason, all CoImpact Coliving guests have a free 1-hour voucher and special discounts at Coco Coffice.

Petit Suc - Natural juices and specialty coffee

Petit Suc. Zumos orgánicos y naturales

Instagram: petitsuc

  1. Tell us the story behind Petit Suc? How was this project born?
We are fans and experts in natural juices and quality products. We created Petit Suc because we wanted to offer these quality, natural products in a design space. Because there is only one planet, and we will take care of it! It’s not too late yet!

  2. What is your value proposition? What makes you different/special?

We are the only ones that make our juices with organic fruit, and at the same price as a normal juice. We make them at the moment, in coldpress machines (which extract many more nutrients than a standard juicer). We work with local producers, and we use seasonal fruit (our menu changes like the seasons), we respect the natural cycle of the fruit.
We also apply many sustainability strategies in our daily lives.

  3. Who is Petit Suc designed for? Who is part of your community?

Petit Suc is created for people who want to improve the world we live in, help the planet and ourselves, eating organic, local, and seasonal. We have a high quality product for people who value these added values.

  4. Why is it interesting for you to offer discounts / benefits to the CoImpact Coliving community?

One of our goals is to create synergies with neighboring companies and organizations that share our values and desire for change. We want the CoImpact Coliving community to also enjoy these benefits, so that we are more people who want to improve the world in which we live.

That is why we offer various discounts and seasonal offers to all coliving guests.

Mapmelon

Mapmelon

Instagram: mapmelon

  1. Tell us the story behind Mapmelon How was this project born?

Mapmelon as such started two years ago when Ramon, after 2 years of being a nomad, realized that he needed an app to match up with the friends they were making in different colivings. At that time it was called Map Connections and it was a tool focused on solving the problem of having to ask all your friends where they are going to be every time you want to book flights to a new place.

After having everything scheduled (September 2022) we began to test it and collect feedback from various nomads in a coliving in Tenerife. It was then that we began to consider different names for the platform, we wanted something related to the nomadic world and travel but that would differentiate us from the rest, something that is very us. As we love fruit and summer we opted for Watermelon, we added the traveler twist with Map and thus the name Mapmelon was born.

A few months later (thanks to user interviews and conversations with several nomads) we realized that the tool would bring more value if we focused on the world of coliving, since there is no community that groups colivers from different coliving spaces. From there we iterated and added features focused on colivers, this made the colivers get to share the app when they stayed in a coliving and thus the community has grown.

  2. What is your value proposition? What makes you different/special?

Mapmelon is different for several reasons:
    – Gather all the information related to colivings (reviews, experiences, events,…) in a single place.
    – The list of colivings is carefully filtered by our community, making sure that accommodations that do not fit with our coliving concept are not filtered in order to ensure a similar experience in different colivings.
    – We have a community where colivers support and help each other, either by sharing experiences or answering questions about different colivings.
    – In addition, Mapmelon allows you to keep track of the nomadic friends that you have made around the world to coincide with them again.

All this makes Mapmelon the platform where you have all the information you need before deciding your next destination and/or coliving (where are your friends, where to stay, what life is like there, etc).

  3. Who is Mapmelon designed for? Who is part of your community?

Mapmelon is focused on digital nomads, specifically nomads who stay in colivings (or colivers). In our community we have from sporadic nomads to coliving owners who want to connect with others and share the experience of their coliving.

  4. Why is it interesting for you to collaborate with the CoImpact Coliving community?
CoImpact is a coliving that takes great care of its community
, its hosts are in charge of solving all the doubts of the guests and organizing various activities that make it possible for nomads to visit beautiful Barcelona without feeling like another tourist.
