TRAINING PROGRAM FOR IMMIGRANT ENTREPRENEURS

Immigration is a natural and inherent human movement. However, the debate mostly revolves around how to stop or prevent it.

We feel that immigration is often seen as a crisis, a problem and an invasion.

Much of our authorities and the media create a negative stigma in society towards the immigrant community. They position the immigrant person as in need of help, beneficiaries of the system, passive agents in need of compassion.

Many immigrants face discrimination from the system. The process of integrating into the workforce is very difficult, especially when there is a lack of connections and community. Belonging to an integrated ecosystem is practically nil.

Our proposal is to promote social entrepreneurship and an entrepreneurial attitude in the immigrant community in Barcelona, through developing our training program at CoImpact Coliving.

The following information belongs to the program that took place from January to July 2021.

We are currently taking some time to evaluate the results of our first program, meet with fellow social impact entrepreneurs and organizations, learn from other models and develop our next steps going forward.

Coliving

Immigration-related problems are complex and consist of a series of interrelated issues that affect both immigrants and the local community.

We developed this training and support program for young immigrant entrepreneurs, who receive a full scholarship from our company, with totally free accommodation at our Coliving for the duration of the program.

Knowledge

Impacters who participated in our training program received quality education focused on entrepreneurship and personal development.

For this, we had the support of partners who shared our purpose, that of democratizing education and access to entrepreneurship resources for everyone equally.

Each entrepreneur had monthly personal mentoring sessions in entrepreneurship with the founders of Sweet Accommodations.

Coaching

Emigrating is a difficult process, both in the management of physical movement and in the personal management of griefs and emotions related to immigration.

The program provided psychological, psychiatric and ontological coaching support to all its participants.

Hand in hand with great professionals, we supported each participant during their process, to maximize the results of the program.

Community

To achieve sustainable success over time, belonging and integration with the local community is key.

Program participants were and are still a part of our large community of Impacters, local and foreign entrepreneurs, a supportive community that helps them become agents of change for their communities and the country in which they reside.

A community that is constantly growing and transforming, and that encourages all its members to develop in the 4 basic pillars of life; physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.

None of this would have been possible without the help of our collaborators. Great people and professionals, agents of change, who trusted in our program and joined our purpose of empowering future social entrepreneurs and leaders of our community.

Want to join the movement? Does our purpose resonate with you?

We invite all entrepreneurs, agents of change, educators and private and public organizations, to do their bit. Let’s co-create a replicable program and model that can be exported to all those communities that want to change the role of immigrants as social entrepreneurs.

Do you belong to the immigrant community and would like to participate in our next entrepreneurship program?
